For me, the Nagrand (98-100) guide was loaded by default and I was seeing the same red X. If you're seeing the same, load the DH starter guide instead, and you'll be all set.

I started a DH and the guide does not have the waypoint arrow. I am updated with the guide and I have tried everything listed here.

I see no DH starting guide in my list. DO I have to be a Elite Member to get it?

You need to own the Legion version of the Leveling guides to have access to the DH starting guide. You can get that by either upgrading your Leveling guides for the Legion expansion or you can sign up for the Elite subscription as that includes all of the Legion guides.
