Pre-Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.0.4. Has Arrived! Guide Update Now Available!

When the servers come up after todays scheduled maintenance you will get your first glimpse at things to come in Mists of Pandaria. Patch 5.0.4. is intended to usher in the next era of World of Warcraft, and most notable of the changes is the revamped talent system.

Now you will have three specializations to choose from, but all three will utilize the same talent tree. Every 15 levels a new talent point will be available to spend, at which point you can choose from one of three talents. The specialization you choose will give you access to exclusive abilities and will affect how other abilities work.

TALENT ADVISOR CHANGES

We have rebuilt the Talent Advisor to work with this new build. To access it, select the Specialization & Talents panel either by clicking the icon at the bottom of the WoW UI or by pressing "N". When it appears you will see the Z icon. Click this to expand the Zygor Talent Advisor configuration.

Click the drop down where it says "Choose a Build" and select the build you would like to use. Hit the accept button which will choose the specialization for you and take you to the talent panel.

Once at the talent panel you will notice small Zygor icons placed over certain talents. These are the talents Zygor recommends you pick. You can manually learn these or use the Zygor Configuration to accept all of these talents at once. If you want more control over how talents are spent see the Talent Advisor section in the options.

Looks fantastic, I've never used the zygor's guide for WoW (only diablo 3) but heard and read good things about it, and these changes make it look even better. However the $60 pricetag, which then turns into more than €60 due to VAT... gonna have to sleep on it a few nights I think! Pity I missed the sale a few months ago!

Hi, I just upgraded but am getting out of date and errors when logging in and now none of my guides load, please can someone help or let me know if i need to log this in a different thread?

If you're playing on a non-US realm you don't have the 5.0.4 patch yet and the guide update today is for the 5.0.4 patch. You'll have to disable the guides until you get the 5.0.4 patch tomorrow in order for them to work again if you updated your guides today.

Meh - it appears that the guides are so god damn good that I have come far too reliable on them a lost the ability to level without them!!! Oh well time to log a raiding toon back on

Haha, I know that feeling. I was totally lost in the MoP Beta trying to figure out what to do with no guides with a new Panda monk.

We'll be pushing out another update in a few minutes that will make the guides
compatible with 5.0.4 and the previous version. So, non-US customers will be
able to use their guides again. :-)

The funny thing is, Im a software developer by trade and Im always advising the clients to read the release notes before upgrading!! If they knew what I'd done here they would rip it out of me :P

Love the guides... though still even with this lates email a couple minutes ago with a fix I just got a ton of errors at the same time saying that it cannot find the main launcher file anymore while updating.
