Netherwing Eggs

I got the add on and went to all 73 location for possible eggs. Not one egg found. Spent hours within the mine.

Anyone got a tip on finding them that aren't in the add on?

The eggs can be a real pain to find, especially if you are a server where a bunch of people are working on getting the mount. Places I have found eggs;

Dragonmaw Fortress - Not a lot but they can be found there.
The mine - Check all the nooks and crannys going in and out, sometimes you won't see them one way but you will going the other direction.

The egg finding path can be frustrating, but I didn't have too much trouble competing with other players. When I did it on my rogue, I'd stealth through the mine and just look for eggs. When doing it on my dk, I'd kill everything I could in the mine because each mob has a small chance to also drop an egg.

Keep up with the path. I timed it at being just about a 10 minute loop if you fly through the path and plow quickly through the mine -- usually getting 2-7 eggs per run.

I think most of my eggs came from the mines. I did find two or three over in the little town across the way but by far the mines had mine. At first I snuck through but as said above mobs have a chance of drooping eggs so my mage would just run through and clear the mines. About every third run I would get one egg from a mob. I suggest keep at it. The netherwig rep is a pain but very doable :cool:

i find them all the time u just have to keep killing things and looking for them. there are not hundreds but there are enough if u do the other dailies that it willl help u get exalted. just keep going thru the mine and killing. u will find some.

I started working on the pre-quests for this a couple of days ago. I got to the last quest in that guide, "The Great Netherwing Egg Hunt" without too much trouble. That quest requires that you find one single egg to turn in (just one). I could not find even one egg to complete that quest. I left, went and did my cooking daily in Dalaran, went back to Shatrath, did the cooking and fishing daily there, went back to try find an egg without luck, went and did the Spirits of Auchndoun daily, went back to look for an egg, left again, went and did some quests in Borean Tundra, went back again to look for an egg, no luck. I went and helped a friend grind some Rep in Zangarmarsh, went and did a heroic instance at the Coilfang Reservoir, went back to try to find the egg, no luck.

You get the point. I'm beginning to think that it might be easier to go out and get something easier like the Flaming Golden Phoenix Mount than to continue this charade. Trying to find a single egg to complete this quest is undoubtedly the most frustrating quest I have ever tried to do.

Combine all this with the fact that I now have the Orc disguise and the temporary Netherdrake Mount when in that zone, and I can't even figure out how to dismount from the Drake while in the zone. I'm a 73 Undead Rogue and when I try to stealth, I immediately come out of stealth and mount up again. I'm just about finished wasting my time with this quest as it's just pissing me off now. <grrrrrr>. :mad:

It depends on where you were looking for the egg and if you were using the in game guide that's part of the Dailies guides or just the .pdf file. My recommendation would be to go into the mine. The mobs will very occasionally drop an egg and there's about 8-10 different possible ground spawn spots in there as well.

Also you may have to clear the mine 3 or 4 times. The drop rate of the mobs is very low.

Yeah, yesterday, when I didn't find the single egg to complete that first quest, I did try using the optimized path to look for an egg and I still never found one. Good news, though. As soon as I made that post above, I logged on and found an egg at the top of a building so now I finished the first guide and now I'm progressing.

I got to the quest where you have to coax the Netherwing Transporters down to the floating rock and kill them to get their relics and this problem with trying to heal (eat) caused me to have to wait 5 minutes or more while my health went back up to full. The problem I was talking about is when you try to eat, or do First Aid, or stealth, anything like that, it automatically mounts you on the Drake so you can't fully heal. I sent Blizz a ticket about the problem and got back one of those canned form letter responses where they said that they were working on the problem. Anyway, I soon figured out that if I coaxed the Transporters down and then use evasion and Killing Spree, I could kill them fairly quickly and not lose too much health. I still had to wait on the cooldown for Killing Spree but it wasn't so bad (only 2 minutes). That zone has some problems I think.
