Impossible quest?

Has anyone here have any success at Thrusting Hodir's Spear? Everytime I try this quest, I get thrown off, even if I'm spamming "Grip on". It's gotten to the stage where I'm doing the daily guide and just skip this quest.

Hmm, I think I see what I was going wrong now. That video says that the third hotkey is just a waste of grip and not to use it but I always used it :P

That quest is quite annoying. I have tried a dozen times with my mage and made it to about 1/2 way through phase two twice. IMHO that is one which can be skipped :)

I dont do that quest, and still make over 300 gold per day/run.
Its a pain.

This is the best daily in the game! It's so awesome once you get in the dragons mouth and attempt to thrust your spear before you or it falls out of the sky. Slow fall comes in handy or the drinking potion you canbuy at the crash site.

It can be a challenge, I recommend doing this one naked that way you don't have the repair bill.

That quest can be very frustrating. But once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple to do. I remember getting killed several time when I first was trying it, now it's a one shot every time.

The comments at wowhead for this quest are pretty useful, especially the first one by Naee. This is how I do the quest and find it pretty successful. But as I said, takes a little practice to get the hang of it.
