I, personally, disable Skip Obsolete Steps since you really should be doing every quest the quide lists regardless. More rep never hurt anyone.

Yeah, I'd have to agree that if you're trying to work reputation then you don't want to skip anything and should turn off the SIS. To do that go into the Dynamic Progression section of the guide options, un-check all 4 boxes, and adjust the slider up to 80.

Alright i will do that thanks but if i do that will it skip the quests i have already done or will i have to do that manually

No, the quests you have already done will be skipped no matter what since they're done. If you've got a few cities you're not sure of on how much reputation you should have the easiest thing to do would be to start the home cities exalted guide again from step 1 after you turn off the SIS and see what quests need to be done that had been skipped. Also keep in mind that the home cities exalted guide won't take you completely to exalted with all the cities, it's designed to work with the champions guide to get you to exalted with them all. So once you've finished the exalted guide do the champions guide and once that's done you should finally be exalted with all your home cities.

So say i did the quests where you get 25 valiant seals or whatever and then go on to the next city will that mess that city up?

I'm not positive on that one, we'll have to see if someone else that's used that section of the guides, or one of the Zygor team, respond to answer you clearly.

Those are essentially dailies, and I'm onto the Human (Stormwind) section now after doing the Nelf bit, and it's getting me to grab the quests fine :)

Note that if you are planning on doing the Crusader achievement then that will give you around 10000 rep per city (5000 for the city you are currently doing and 1250 for the other 4). So you only need to get within 10000 rep points of Exalted to be exalted with them all by the time you get the Crusader title.

You will only be at exalted with all factions after you complete the Home Cities guide AND achieve Champion status with all five races of your faction.

this seems like a good place to ask this,

Will or does the guide keep track of you're faction? The first thing it had me do was get my exhaulted with undercity, I am now but the guide wants me to continue doing undercity quests (not just a few but several hours worth).

I was sort of expecting the guide to skip to the next home city and start building faction from those quests, and unless you a familur with the other cities you don't really know at what point to scroll you're guide down to and start from.

Wanna know how I got exalted with the home cities?

I went to the area where new toons start and accepted all the quests there, and then moved to the next immediate area. I even used the leveling guide to help me out. :p

To answer your question, at this time the guides are not able to determine what your reputation is so no, they can't keep track of it. If you're already exalted then I'd suggest manually skipping to the next city to save yourself time.

Resurrecting an old thread, but I completed the champion thing for each Home city at ATG, and am only exalted with Stormwind (this is after doing the home city rep guide too, natch). Note that I'm (or rather, my character is) a DK so I guess I missed out on a bunch of rep by not doing the normal 13-55 quests.

I am around a cumulative 35,000 rep points away from Exalted Champion of the Alliance (spread across all 4 remaining factions; 7,000 on one, 11,000 on another and so on). Still some work to do :-\

Yeah, it's tougher for a DK. Also takes some time to get Argent Crusade exalted because the champion's dailies give Ebon rep instead :(

I've done Crusader on a DK and had to do pretty much every rep-giving low-level quest that I could find. Also had to do the Argent Crusade dailies in Zul'Drak for longer than I'd have liked.

One thing I did on one of my toons was collect Valiant seals until I was exalted before turning in 25 to get champion for that city, then moved to the next. If you've already completed champion for each city, you may have to get champion's writs instead of prize purses for the champion dailies. I believe you can get 250 rep for each writ turn-in to the city quartermasters in the valiant tent. A possible alternative is equip your Insignia of the Dawn, then run Stratholme (Eastern Plaguelands) repeatedly. Collect runecloth to turn in to the city quartermasters and scourgestones to turn in for Argent Dawn reputation.

Hey,

Yes, I've read about that today :) I've been doing a lot of reading to find out what exactly I need to do to get this put to bed early (really hoping my future non-DK toons don't have this issue).

Anyway, my plan is to use my Champions Writs to attack my Gnomeregan rep first, since that has the largest amount outstanding (11,000 odd til exalted); turning in a writ awards 250 rep but also 62.5 rep (I think) for each of the other factions (http://www.wowhead.com/item=46114#comments) as an 'overflow'. So, as I'm tackling my largest 'in-debted' home city, I'm also chipping away at the others. Meanwhile, I'm buying up cheap runecloth on the AH.

I'll look into obtaining an Insignia of the Dawn, and run Stratholme.

Thanks :)
