Hi All,
thought I'd just give a potential tip out...
I'm on my second character using the guide (warlock). I started doing the Icecrown pre-quest guide at 77, figuring I'd get xp for this while opening up the dailies (killing 2 birds with one stone ;) ).
It was doable at 77, though a little harder as some of the quest mobs were Orange. Some classes may have some troubles with those.
At 78, they all seem to have turned Yellow (as most normal mobs are 80).
I'm almost 79 now (and will hit 79 as soon as I turn in these 5-6 completed yellow quests I have waiting for me tonight ;) ), and about 4-5ths through the Icecrown pre-quest guide.
For those that don't want to wait for 80 before opening up the dailies, I can highly recommend starting a bit early, as the xp is actually great from running the prequests.
Not sure if I'm really missing anything from not completeing the full leveling guide, but I don't think so, as the flight paths required seem to be covered in the dailies guide.
