Speed Run (no ATG)

Thought I would feedback on the 'gold speed run', since I did this, finally, in one go this morning on a super-speed flying mount.

It took me 2 hours and 7 mins to complete, dying twice :)

I netted, after corpse loot and selling the drops, 384 gold.

Also, I managed to get my rep with the Argent Crusade to revered, so not a bad morning!

Just watched the video on the main site, where one of Zygor's crew did the gold run w/ ATG quests (as a horde) and did it in 1hr 19 mins. So, I'm going to do this tonight (with the bronze drake mount, as they used) to see what the comparison is like! :)

So your first post with the 384 gold was what run win 2hr 7min vs your plan of the no ATG?

I only ask because I have yet to try a gold run since I am still completing all of the pre-quests for Northrend. Yes, I am slow but getting close. I am on step 180ish (think there are 230?) in Storm Peaks and already completed the ICC full guide along with several other of the areas minor guides. Someday I'll find time to finish the pre-quests and actually try a gold run :rolleyes:

My first post was the speed gold run without ATG, and that is what took just over 2 hours.

I went to do the run with ATG tonight, but it seems you need to be a champion first. Interested in seeing what's different in that it allows for a faster run. I don't see how you could do the 'non-ATG' run an hour faster than I did, even if you didn't die...

Interesting, hopefully I cam get back to the Ice Crown pre- quests after I get my fleet of Netherdrakes. I generally do the 9 Argent dailies and the ToC dungeons to net 13 Champion seals er day. Then I go do the 3 Oracles dailies if time.

I'm still working on the ATG valiant quests, so I can begin the champions stuff. So much to do and so little time! :)

I've put my netherwing hunt on hold, since I got the bronze drake drop in whatever dungeon it drops in (I seem to be the last person on my server to have it lol), so my dragon-mount-fix is sorted for now :D

Funny, I have a random macro that spawns my mounts and I don't even include the bronze drake because everyone has one. I found 16 eggs and got exhaulted last night. I will acquire my fleet of 6 Netherdrakes today.

I'm working through the prequests for Icecrown now (almost done), and want to know if there are other "pre" quests I need to do?

Looks like you have to get to Champion status in Argent before being able to do the "really" quick speed run?

That's the only prequests you need to do to do the Argent Tournament section.

There are two speed gold runs. One of these requires you to have completed the entire Argent Tournament section. To do either of these you have to complete the following sections:

The Storm Peaks Full Zone Guide
The Sons of Hodir Reputation (Honored)
Icecrown Full Zone Path

Hrmm ... already finished those three section pre-quests along with a couple others. I have been going through all of the zones pre-quests but honestly I am not sure why. A sticky with what each zone's pre-quests unlock would be awesome.

We are gonna release an online guide for the dailies guide that covers the order in which you need to do things as soon as we finish up the help desk section.

I've had the tooltip not pop up for me on my hunter but haven't tried to take the time to disable different addons yet to see if anything was interfering, which is what I'd be inclined to believe.
