Can not start the guide because of minor error. Step 1 is kill Goramosh but after killing him 6 times I never got the device. reading wowwiki says you need to be on Prevent the Accord (http://wotlk.wowhead.com/quest=12004) which is the last step of the chain which starts with A Disturbance In The West (http://wotlk.wowhead.com/quest=12439)
Once I did that short chain I got the strange device on the first kill and am able to go on starting the pre-quest section.
