What are your goals?

Just interested in what everyone's primary goals are in playing WoW beyond enjoyment of playing.

Are you interested in being a PVP bad-a**? Completing every achievement? Amassing as much gold as possible, or being the best blacksmither?

Personally, my goal (with my primary hunter) is to be a traveller, being able to see all corners of the WoW world without being killed :D Right now I'm going through Outland and loving the variety compared to the original two continents (only being to Northrend for a flying visit to the dock town there!).

I'm also possibly boring in that I like the idea of staying in a town and plying my trade as a smithy or enchanter, or whatever.

Or am I just weird, and y'all just like hacking and slashing? :D

Goals change over time with a game as large and dynamic as WoW.

Initially:
I wanted to get to level 80 ASAP so i could play with some real life friends who were already 80. No real goals past "get to 80 and play".

Current:

Get to 80 (edit: Just got 80 last night!)
Raise DPS as high as I can
Max professions (JC, BS, cooking, fishing and such)
Learn all the quest / epic cooking & JC recipes
Get rep up for various factions
Run all of the Outland & Northrend instances in both normal & heroic
Explore the world


There are some others as well but those are my "current" main goals. I expect those to change over time but for the last couple months my current list above rings true :cool:

My goal is to get to lvl 80 on all the toons in my siggy. My mage 1st for the heirlooms and Cold weather flying tome.

I am currently a maxed engineer and am nearly done with mining.

1) get warrior to 80.
2) gear warrior(as well as max bs/jc)
3) Help friend make his Shadow's Edge.

I'm currently working on options. I play with a small guild of close friends and we really enjoy running 5 man instances together. We got started before the Dungeon Finder so we pretty much decided to make sure we have the 3 roles covered (Tank, Heal, Dps) to keep things from getting boring.

So right now I've got...
Level 80 Gnome Fire Mage $1.00
Level 80 Night Elf Holy Priest $1.00
Level 77 Human Protection Paladin .77¢ (Leveling with Zygor or course ;) )

Being able to play all 3 roles for 5 man instances...Priceless

I must admit though, we've been using the Dungeon Finder quite a bit lately. When one of the guildies takes a night off we make sure the tank and healer role are filled and it's InstaDungeon.

Goals atm;

T10 gear for lvl 80 DK
finish lvl'ing my lock to 80, then gear
lvl my paladin from 32 to 80, then gear
lvl my hunter from 36 to 80, then gear
lvl my mage from 18 to 80, then gear
lvl my warrior from 13 to 80, then gear

then take over the world.

Leveling pala from 63-80
Leveling a druid 1-80
Gearing up pala and gettin epic flying mounts.

My goals are the following in this order:
Get DK to 70
Get 1000 gold on DK
Start leveling in Northern
Get DK to 77 then hopefully have enough moeny for cold weather
Get epic flyer
Get DK to 80 and geared
Start over with heirloom on Pally or Elemental Shaman
Enjoy the game

I now have some short-term immediate goals:

- Get my DK to lvl 80
- One done, get my hunter lvl 80 while:
- Getting my new Paladin and Shammy to lvl 15, to begin dungeon runs

The first is so I can claim to have a lvl 80 char ;-) and also see the end-game, daily stuff before the new expansion comes out (which is a while away, I know, but I'm slow).

Second is so I can then use the hunter, which is a miner/skinner, to basically become a gathering machine! :)

And the third is so I can have low-level dungeon experiences so I can learn that aspect of the game, since I'm new to it even after playing for a couple of years.

I wanted to update my progress on this goal. I have finally obtained Shadow's Edge (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=24743)
This is the first step in the Shadowmourne quest chain... and OMG was it a PITA to get all 25 Primordial Saronite (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=49908). I think this legendary is going to be quite a rare siting. All of the drops you need (which are a lot), are only dropped 1 at a time. One of the quests has you getting 50 shards that have a 25% - 50% drop rate from bosses, and only one will drop........ this is going to be a Loooooooooooong journey. Luckily my guild has me first in line to get it, provided I stay in front of everyone else in terms of quest progression. hehe

My goal is to lvl my Mage a fast as I can!
And only do the weekly raid on my 80's till Cata comes out!
And lvl my jc/mining as I lvl my Mage but I think so far jc is the hardest to lvl...but I guess I could just prospect the million ores I have LOL I always other that skill lol
