I have levelled my hunter to 36 using Zygor's Guide. I've done one or two extra quests, levelled herbalism and skinning and made over 400g on the way. Oh, and got 4 levels ahead of the guide in the process.
On downloading the latest version, I noticed no change in step number.. however on getting to my next area (Stranglethorn), I did notice it skipped over one or two of the lower level quests and I found myself far quicker than expected in The Shimmering Flats, also skipping questlines.
Brilliant! I'm hoping none of them are needed for future chains, but I trust that Zygor will fix any of these when they are found, as I know their standards are extremely high :) I remain a very loyal customer!
(characters would be higher, but I only restarted on a Euro server about 2-3 months ago, and have a lvl 23 priest, and a lvl 36 hunter, thanks to Zygor (limited time to play, due to having a young family - still levelling fast enough the guild is impressed!))..
