Ok, so I decided to just go ahead and purchase the Alliance Guide. Anyway, since I had problems with the horde guide skipping ahead, after the guide caught up to my lvl 7 human, I turned everything off in the Dynamic Progression. Well, I turned in a quest (Ally 1-13 step 66), which pushed me over into lvl 8, and the guide skipped ahead about 5 steps. It stopped at the step right before saying that I should now be level 8. The step before that is turning in the quest that I had just come back from completing and still needed to turn in (Goldtooth). I will point out that after turning everything off in DP in the horde guide, it did NOT progress on its own anymore. Hopefully it won't continue to do this but I wanted to let you guys know. :)

Why would you want to turn of the DP? If the guide is skipping it means you are ahead of those steps and you want it to catch up to you. Thats the way the guide is suppose to work. So I am confused here on this.

Because sometimes it'll skip quests that unlock later quests. It did that on my horde guide. I had to go all the way back to the point where it started skipping stuff. It was much like trying to fit an already leveled toon into the guide. It was a pain. Also, it'll skip steps that tell you where to set your hearthstone. I am aware that there is 1 option that you can uncheck so it won't skip the hearthstone ones but going back and forth through the game and trying to figure out which quests you need to go back to to unlock others just isn't worth it. I also wasn't all that much ahead. Only about 5 steps. lol I like being a little ahead - even moreso than that. That ensures me that I don't need to do any grinding.

EDIT: Thinking more about it, in the horde guide, I remember quests that they had you loot more of a certain item than what was needed because it knew it was going to have to do another quest later that needed the same loot. Now... what happens with those quests? I'd just rather not skip ahead. lol With the zygor guides, you're already leveling super fast. :) I think it's awesome, though, for a pre-leveled toon to jump into.

Ok, but I still think you are missing the purpose of it skipping ahead. The guide is setup so you can do other things other then just lvling by the guide.

Example:

I had a lvl 20 Orc Hunter when I started this morning with the new upated guide. The step it load was right on the money, cool no looking through the guide to find my spot. Then I decided to do dungeons today to break from the lvling grind. I went up 4 lvls. When I started turning in quest the guide started to skip to get back insync with my lvl. I would turn in one guest it would skip to the nextr quest to turn in. I killed one guest that wasn't going to give me much exp, then the guide skipped again to the next spot. Click forward a few times and now I am at a spot where I want to do the guest. I am sure once this is done it'll start skipping again since I am still 3 lvls above the spot in the guide but I have green and yellow quest. The only thing is there was 2 flight path I skipped over. Now I made the choose to do this and will go back and get them later. The guide is working just fine for me.

I hope you will give the guide a chance. I am not sure what lvl your horde toon is but the guide is doing what it was meant to do. If you happen to hit a quest that says to turn in and you don't have that quest, skip it. You'll soon be back on track with the guide like before. :D

But my toons are not that far ahead of the guide. I'm not levels ahead, I'm only several steps ahead (or not even that much) and when it skips those steps, a lot of the times they are quests I needed to do in order to be right where the guide says I should be. >.> The whole skipping-quests-that-unlock-other-quests is now a known issue and they are working on it. I know what you are saying but that is not the case. If I were levels ahead it wouldn't really matter. I do have the choice to play without that feature and I would like to actually have that choice. It's causing me frustration with both guides. I'm following the guide just fine and it'll start skipping stuff that I NEED to do in order to continue following the guide. I don't think you're understanding and again they are working on the whole skipping unlocking quests. I just wanted them to know that it's still skipping even when it's completely turned off.

crownedwithgrace, try this for me.

In the Dynamic Progress options, there is a slider bar called "Allow levels ahead". This is a setting that tells the guide how far ahead of the guide you would like to be able to get, before the guide starts skipping things it considers out of date.

By default, it is set to "0", meaning if you hit level 24, and were currently doing level 23 guide steps, the guide with start trying to skip the rest of the level 23 guide steps, in order to get you caught up to where you should be level 24 in the guide.

You could move that slider, to maybe "5". This would make the guide start skipping ahead once you are at least 5 levels ahead of the guide, and no sooner than that. This setting may suit your preference more.

I hope that helps.

I did what you said and have been playing for hours now on that setting and there's no more skipping! I am a VERY happy camper. :D Thank you so much! This appears to have fixed the problem for me.
