I've used the Guide on a few characters before the warlock I've been working on lately. My first was a DK, so of course that's not 1-80. I also used the guide to finish a few characters I had started without the guide. But this warlock is the first character I've done the full 1-80 using the guide.

Total time played: 9 days, 18 hours, 39 minutes, 44 seconds.

I know a lot of others have done it a lot faster. But it's my first and I'm happy with the time; it's definitely the fastest character I've ever leveled. I started on Nov. 7, and it's less than a month later today. Also, this character was used as a banker (at Level 1) for awhile (prior to Nov. 7) before I started developing him as a character to play, so the actual leveling time is probably several hours less than the total played time, but probably not an entire day less.

Early on, I was amazed at my leveling speed, but I kept expecting to slow down as I got nearer to 60, for 60-70 to be noticeable slower, and 70-80 to be really slow. It turned out although of course each level does take a bit longer than the one before it, I didn't notice any real slowing until 70. The 70-80 portion was about one-third of the total time.

I followed the guide fairly closely. I think I did only a handful of quests that weren't in the guide. I did end up skipping some parts, mainly due to my using heirloom gear, which boosts XP earned from kills and quests. I was, I believe, Level 60 when I started the Eastern Plaguelands quests, so after doing a few in that zone, I skipped to the Outland section. In Outland, I actually got to 68 or 69 while still in Nagrand, so I skipped the entire rest of the Outland section and went to Northrend. I had one or two problems in Borean Tundra of actually being under the level requirements for quests, since I went there a bit early, but I quickly caught up to where I was supposed to be, and followed the guide very closely after that.

I hit 80 from turning in the quest "Powering the Waygate - The Maker's Perch" to Avatar of Freya in Sholazar Basin, guide level 78 step 73.

Congratulations! I swear ZG turns WoW into even more of a drug. Once you hit 80 you just wanna hop on another character and keep rolling.

With all my high lvl characters I've hit lvl 60 around 3.5 days /played. 70 in another 24 hours or so. And then 80 has always been around 40 hours from that.

I was surprised how much faster the last couple lvls from 70-80 went. My longest lvl took about 5 hours, and 77-78, 78-79, and 79-80 took around 3 hours each. It sounds kinda dumb, but my best advice for leveling speed is just to complete each step as quickly as possible. :-p

Anyways, I'll stop rambling. Congratulations again and keep it up!

Yeah... I skip areas and quests as well, if I dont need them.

I guess some like to be told what to do, when to do it, and how to do it.... like watching a movie I guess. No thought or involvement ='s good times. LOL
