Hey Zygor Team / Zygor,

I would like to thank you for the effort which you put in the guide. I'm leveling a Human Paladin atm and I've no problems so far. Anyway the guide could tell the user to use the hearthstone more... 90% after finishing all my quests the guide tell me to tun back instead of using a Hearthstone. e.g in Westfall at lvl 16-18.

I totally agree. The amount of hearthing they put into the guide i believe is based on a 1 hour cooldown. There could be twice as much hearthing since the Hearth Stone now has a 30 minute cooldown.

Or using the scroll of recalls ... helps my runs back to town quite a bit :)

Sorry but can't you just use common sense???

If the guide says "run back to xxx" and you have your hearthstone set there and it's ready, just use it. The guide has no idea if you've spent 5 minutes or 50 minutes on a quest so just use your hearthstone whenever you can imho

Lets think a little deeper than the surface, Sonalita. I get out to some place and it says, "Run back to where-ever" and that happens to be my hearth, so i use it... then a few steps later it says Fly off to B.F.E. to turn in a quest and THEN tells me to hearth... i'm screwed in terms of saving time. This happens a lot. Zygor team places the hearth in optimal spots for traveling long distances.

SO, instead of playing Russian Roulette with the hearth stone, what do you say we just get the guide reconfigured for the new hearth CD of 30 minutes?

Both of you have valid points. While I do agree some common sense is required I'll also agree that we do not (for the most part) know what is upcoming in the guide.

Soooo... if you are smart enough to expand the steps and review the next 10+ steps knowing about how long that will take then feel free to use the hearth. If you can't do that .... well simply follow the guide step by step as if it was a cookbook :p

Well, but the motto of the guide is: "Don't think, just play"... So yeah, I agree that It'd be great to change it in the guide.

However, it's hard to tell how long time you might need for step x-z. As a hunter you are always way faster then let's say a priest, and considering bad drop luck one might need about 30 min. more on a step then someone else.

Also there are "experienced" players who are just a lot faster than new players etc pp. So in the end it's not that simple.

I agree drop rates will play a large portion on how fast you go. In the end you would have leveled that hunter or priest up to level X so you would have a feel for how quickly the toon is going through the guide. If you know you move slow then maybe you only consider the next 2-3 steps whereas if you are tearing through like Taz on a Redbull maybe you consider the next 15 steps?

The guide was written to account for all classes and much like the bell curve we all experienced back in school there has to be a middle somewhere. As such I'll bet Zygor targets the middle expecting us to be smart enough to "tweak" a little on the fly.

I guess Zygor could offer a more personalized service and fly over and watch you play giving advice but I'll bet that costs a lot more :p

I usually ignore the hearth instructions for another reason as well - training. Rarely (if ever?) does the guide send yoiu to the city for training. Personally I like to get my new skills the second I ding. Given that you can now get your 1st mount at 20 and epic mount at 40, travel time is somewhat less of a consideration.

That's just me though. Others think differently and that's just fine :)

I tend to go after spells quickly too, but lots of times when I ding I'll scan the upcoming steps to see if it sends me to town soon for turning in quests. If it does then I'll wait til that point and take a flight to the closest trainer for spells after I do those quest turn ins.

maybe one day...

the guide will be written one level at a time, rather than 1-13, or 68-70, and will be able to auto-detect when you level up. It will automatically load the next level's guide after your current step is completed, and will remind you to fly to a nearby city and train/repair/etc...

we can only dream :)

That's why I roll a mage, unlimited porting, the only way to go.

I agree with Werderx as far as not wanting to hearth because it may tell you to hearth a few steps later and then you're stuck. I'll usually look ahead through the guide and see if there's any hearthing soon. If not, I'll go ahead and do it. I also like to get my spells right away and will use the hearth in that case if I know I'll be doing that and maybe even going afk for a bit at that time. But I'll look on wowhead at what those spells are and see if they're worth doing all that for. I'll also look ahead in the guide and see if it'll be sending me to a place where I can train soon and just wait. So, it all depends.
Another thing I agree on is what shronk said about the whole "don't think, just play" motto. That is how I like to play. That is a big reason why I love Zygor Guides. I play games to get away from thinking, to get away from the stresses of daily life. I don't now want to go into a game that causes stress on top of it all. lol So, I very much like just going along through the game step by step, not having to put much thought into it. Just... lalala. XD lol It's taken the frustration out and made my game time so much more pleasant. The peace of mind alone is worth the money. lol

An addon you could grab to eliminate the need to go to WoWHead to see if skills/spells are worth running after is TrainerSkills. It will remember the listing of everything a trainer has available for you after you visit your trainer. Then you can open a window that looks just like the trainer window and see the skill/spells just as if you were there and check out the descriptions and costs.

I had heard about trainer skills but when I went to download it, it hadn't been updated for a very long time so I wasn't sure that it would work. It hasn't been updated in a year. Do you know if it'll still work? That'd be a neat one to have.

Yeah, I use it all the time. Still works for me.
