How to Install Zygor Guides without the Auto-Installer

This section will explain how to install your Zygor Guides products on a computer running Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 manually, without using the Zygor Install/Update Client.

Manual Install:
Our guides come in a compressed file called a Zip file. We recommend downloading a free program called WinRar which will uncompress the Zip file for you so you can install the guides.

Once you have WinRar installed you can continue with the Zygor Installation instructions:

01) Go to www.zygorguides.com/amember/member.php and login.

02) Underneath Product Downloads click the link to the all-in-one-download area.

03) Underneath Manual Install Package click the first Download Now button and a box will pop up. Make sure "Open with WinRar" is selected and click Ok.

Note: If you encounter problems when trying to open directly from the website, you can choose Save File to save the file to your desktop first, then open it from there.

4) WinRar will start and it will tell you to purchase a license. You don't need to buy anything. Simply click the button that says Close. It will not close the program.

WinRar should look like it does in the screenshot below showing you the 2 folders needed for our guide to run. Click "Extract To" option at the top.

A box will pop up asking where you want to unpack the files. You will need to browse to your World of Warcraft installation folder, select Interface and then select AddOns as displayed in this picture. However, if you have no idea where you should unpack the files to, read blow for instructions on locating your World of Warcraft AddOns directory. Otherwise, click Ok when you have selected the AddOns folder.

If you do not know where World of Warcraft is installed on your computer, go to the desktop, right click the WoW Icon, select Properties and you will find the directory next to the word Target.

By default World of Warcraft is installed to the following places.

Windows XP:
C: -> Program Files -> World of Warcraft -> Interface -> AddOns

Windows Vista & Windows 7:
C: -> Users -> Public -> Games -> World of Warcraft -> Interface -> AddOns

Mac:
Macintosh HD \ Applications \ World of Warcraft \ Interface \ AddOns

Click Ok when you have selected the AddOns folder. With the guides installed in the correct place, close WinRar and load World of Warcraft. At the character selection screen you should now see a red box in the bottom left hand corner called Add ons. Click this box.

You should see a list of addons and the Zygor and Cartographer addons will be listed. Disable all of the Cartographer addon modules EXCEPT Cartographer, Cartographer Waypoint, and Cartographer Notes.
