Is there anywhere I can farm up a decent amount of embercloth? I don't want to spend any gold on cloths (saving it up for volatile elements and shards to trade for recipe).

According to wowhead any cata zone will do. Just depends on the level you are to know which zone to farm it from.I'm Rebur, Tadia, or Judianna most games.

Embercloth
The embercloth is a pain in the booty to get ahold of and is near impossible to farm. As he said above you can get it from everywhere of the new Cata areas. I ended being a sucker and spent about a 1000 gold on the dang cloth so i could finish leveling up my First Aid!..
