A general guide problem

I have noticed what I think are a few bugs in the guide and I was wondering if there was a solution to them that someone could offer. As described above it relates to the guide in general but becomes particularly confusing / annoying in the Suramar guide.

I can only describe it by saying that in the past when you set the guide up to cover a leveling area and you had completed steps within the guide, the guide would know which ones you had already completed and take you to the next relevant step in the guide. That does not appear to happen any longer especialy confusing with the suramar guide.

For example every time i logout and log back in ( no matter what part of the guide im on ) I am told by the guide to either A: hearth to dalaran . or B: Hearth to Shalaran.

on the hearth to ? being Shalaran I am always informed to be handing in a quest to the npc there even when i dont have one to hand in. and for quests that I have complete the arrow waypoint is utterly confusing at best and generaly I guess when A quest completion question mark is displayed it means I am on the same level as the npc that I have to hand the quest into but I can run around and around the same area and never find them, I therefore come to to conclusion that maybe its actualy underground where I am . so Again I run around and around the area trying to find an access point. I guess my point being that they waypoint arrow offer more confusion than solution, therefore it fails its purpose of speeding up / improving your general leveling experience.

Are there known bugs that would explain all this ? if so is there any ETA on a possible fix ? I have tried the recheck route etc by clicking the waypoint arrow as suggested in the past but it never appears to fix the issues.

I haven't had others reporting this kind of problem. Try doing a full guide wipe/reset.


1. exit WoW
2. go to the WoW/Interface/Addons folder and delete the ZygorGuidesViewer folder
3. go to the WoW/WTF/Account/<accountname>/SavedVariables folder and delete the Zygor files in there
4. run the desktop client and install a fresh copy of the guides
5. go back in game and see if that fixed it

Thank you for the reply I have done exactly as advised above ( second time this week ) and when I try to load the Suramar guide it stops every single time on step 22 "Get the Meredil Flight Path" THen I have to click to manually get it to move on step by step till It is on the one the guide says in om which is in the hundreds this is extremly frustrating.

For future reference you can right click on the next step button to get it to go into fast forward mode again to skip over all of the green steps quickly.

When you log in and it's telling you to hearth what step is displayed in the guide viewer?

This sounds like the guides haven't "learned" what flight paths you have already. Try talking to any Legion flight master to open the flight map, this will teach the guides which flight paths you know already.
