Travel steps

Have you guys considered adding the Flight Master's Whistle to travel steps. I've come across multiple instances where that would work much better then the "go to here" step.

We didn't go with that because there is no guarantee that whoever is on that step will have the whistle.

I figured it could simply detect if you had it or not.

That would be for the Travel System to be able to detect if you have it. The "go here" lines in the steps are designed to help guide people around and it's just not setup to be able to display step lines based on if you have one item.

I noticed in a recent guide update that the whistle would now be considered for travel steps yet I still have not been told to use it. Also my hearthstone is set to Shal'aron and have never been told to hearth there either.

That changelog entry about the whistle was a little premature. Right now it's just been added to our dev copy for testing and tweaking and it should be out to the customer copy before too long.

Hearthstone recommendations are always based on where you're standing and where the waypoint is at and the fastest time to get there. It's all dependent on which travel method will get you from A to B in the fastest time.

If that's the case why does it tell me to fly to Shal'aran when my hearthstone is set there and not on cd?

If it's saying to fly there when you have the hearthstone set there it might be something keeping it from seeing that as a valid inn or travel point. Have you tested with all other addons disabled and/or have you tested with doing a full wipe/reset of the guides?
