From the Swamp of sorrows to... Wintergrasp?

I was... wondering and a little baffled as to why the Guide sent me from the Swamp of Sorrow to Wintergrasp, as opposed to just getting the quest from Avuun and going straight to the Blasted lands. Just wanted to know if there was a specific reason for this as I am trying to get my char to level 60 as quick as possible without dungeons.

When the guides were created we had found that Blasted Lands could leave you short of 60 so we added in the Winterspring zone to make sure that there was enough quests to make sure you could get to 60. With the way Blizzard has made leveling easier (and if you have heirlooms) you could probably get away with skipping Winterspring and just do Blasted Lands. As long as you can hit 58 you would then be able to move on to Hellfire early.

Yup. i can see that now. I'm 3 levels short. make that 2. almost 58.

Also, little nitpicking here, but you confused the names Winterspring and Wintergrasp. One's the leveling zone you're talking about, the other is WotLK's PvP combat zone.
