Frostfire Ridge Steps 74+-ish

Step 74 got skipped (I didn't click to advance). It only had me turn in my JC quest, and seems to be doing it out of order, especially step 80, killing lava slimes, really seems out of over. Additionally, step 80 is seeking 1 rough lava diamond when you need 3.

In that area of the guide is where there are a lot of steps for the different professions. What you're seeing it skip is most likely steps for a profession you do not have. There are many times in the guides where a step will be skipped because it is something you can't do so there is no need to show you that step.

For the lava diamond are you sure you are on the step for the Rough Lava Diamond and not the step for the Marvelous Lava Diamond? You only need 1 Marvelous Lava Diamond and I'm see the step for the Rough Lava Diamond says to collect 3 of them.

Try using the wrench icon on the desktop client to reinstall the guides to make sure you have the latest version. That should be displaying to get 3 of them.

It says i have 5.0.13996 & that that's the latest version. I clicked the wrench, clicked 'scan & repair', and the issue is still there. (FWIW, I just installed this, too, so I doubt there's old version conflicts, but i'll try w/e troubleshooting steps)

Edit: also, y'all are amazingly responsive, so definitely impressive as a new user.

On the step before with the Massive Lava Diamond it only told you to get 1 right?

The step before (and this is going from memory as servers are down - I'll update if I'm wrong) was the task to kill the big slime and get 1 Marvelous Lava Diamond. The quest itself needs that kill, the marvelous lava diamond, and 3 rough lava diamonds, but the zygor guide is treating it as complete when I get only 1 of the rough lava diamonds.

Edit: so yes, step 79 is correct and has me get 1 marvelous lava diamond. http://i.imgur.com/9NNeXNp.jpg
