Pandaran Starting Guide

So I leveled a new Pandaran last night and while the guide worked well the Waypoint arrow did not. It pointed straight down until I left the starting area.

Whats up with that.

If it was pointing straight down it sounds like you have an old version of the guides installed. When you are in game click on the orange drop down arrow on the guide viewer to open up the guide selection window and tell me what that window shows in the lower left corner for the version number.

Actually I have the latest version of the guide installed...5.0.13976

and I have never had this behavior in any starting zone before.

If you see something like that again try typing /re into the chat window to reload the UI. Normally if it's stuck like that it just didn't get initialized right but when that happens it should turn into a red X in a circle.

and if it turns into a circle with a red X...then what?

The /re to reload the UI should fix that.

Ok I created another Pandaran. Got the same problem. Tried /re 3 times never solved the issue. Renamed the WTF, Logs and Cache files and restarted the game from scratch. Same issue. Deleted the Zygor Guide from the game and my computer. Re-installed Zygor Guides and re-configured it in game.

I still have the very same issue.

I have no idea what to do next. I am very frustrated by all this.

Try renaming your Interface folder to Interface.Old and then install a fresh copy of Zygor so it's the only addon to be installed and see if that makes any difference.

Ok I will give that a try tomorrow. I did notice however that when I had the Pandaran Guide 1-12 loaded and as soon as I landed outside Org the arrow started working normally. Have a good night.

Hmm, does the arrow work on any of the steps there on the Wandering Isle? If it works up to a point what step does it stop working on?

The Waypoint arrow never functioned when I was on the Wandering Isle. After I selected to join the Horde, I was transported to just outside Orgrammar to step 165 of the guide and the Waypoint Arrow then started to work normally.

Carbonite 6.2.0 seems to be the problem for the Zygor Client Waypoint Arrow when leveling on Wandering Isle. Carbonite does not cause any issues in other zones. I suspect that Carbonite was never coded by its developer or was coded incorrectly to include Wandering Isle.

Disabling Carbonite 6.2.0 eliminated the problem and now the Waypoint Arrow in Zygor is working correctly on Wandering Isle.

It sounds like it was just unable to tell which map you were on but I'm not able to reproduce that. It is most likely something that was specific to that character or your particular addons. If you go thru there again and you see the same problem let us know.

Ahh. Yeah Carbonite has not been updated in over a year and it has problems in the WoD zones. I didn't know it also gave a problem on Wandering Isle. While Carbonite is a beautiful map addon if someone doesn't update it soon it will just die with more and more game patches.
