navigator broken

I was given an error when loading windows that Zygor couldn't find the path to java so I updated Java. Now I am getting an error in game, and the navigator is extremely sluggish. Occasionally it will give me an arrow but most of the time I will just get an hourglass, even if I am standing right next to the target. I refreshed the client to make sure I had the latest version, did a /re in game and even restarted the game but no luck. Here is the error message:

Do you still have this error and slow response when all other addons are disabled? Also, when you click on the orange down arrow on the guide viewer and open the guide selection window what does it display in the lower left corner for the version number?

Disabled everything and it still was barely working. I didn't get the error message again in the little while I was testing it out, but the navigator would be an hourglass most of the time. Only when I was right next to the target did it kick in and give me an arrow if then.

Try exiting the game and go to your WoW/Interface/Addons folder. In there delete the ZygorGuidesViewer folder and then run the desktop client to get a fresh copy of all guide files installed. When you go back in game if it still tries to do an hourglass or a red X then type /re into the chat window to reload the UI and see if that helps.

I just tried both of those. It still takes about a minute to show the direction as opposed to for a complicated route it would take a max of around 5 seconds. The only thing I did was reinstall Java. Tomorrow I will try to reinstall Java or see if I can reinstall an earlier version.

reinstalled java, Version 8 Update 91. restarted my computer. no luck. got this error message after using a teleport:

Reinstalling Java will not affect the in-game guides, that is only needed for the desktop client to run and that just installs and updates the guides. If the desktop client is already running then you're fine on the Java side.

Try doing this for a test:
1. Exit the game
2. Go to your WoW/Cache folder and delete everything in there
3. Go to your WoW folder and rename the Interface and WTF folders to Interface.Old and WTF.Old respectively
4. Run the Zygor desktop client and install a fresh copy of the guides

What this will do is simulate a new game installation and you only ever having installed Zygor. Now when you go in game do you still have problems or errors?

It's working now. At first it was giving me a red x instead of an arrow a few times off and on, but I did a /re and that seemed to fix it. Now what do you think I should do? Add back my addons one at a time to this new setup?

That would be what I would do. I'm thinking that the problem was most likely in the WTF folder so you'll probably have no problems adding in all of the addons again but you'll have to set them all up again. The WTF folder stores all of the game and addon settings and is where files tend to get corrupted first since it's always being read from and written to by the game.

I copied my old Interface and WTF folders into my new ones without copying any Zygor folders, and at first glance everything seems to be working properly. Hopefully it will stay that way and I will not have to reconfigure all my other addons. Thanks for your help.
