Is there a faster way to travel?

I know way back when there used to be a way to have the guide arrow point you directly to the next objective, but in the last couple years I've noticed now the arrow will points you to each step along the way. For example, the arrow will say go to this ramp, then this spot, then down a ramp at that spot, and so on. What with flying in Draenor, I can just fly straight to the next quest pickup/turn in and don't need the different parts of the route along the way. Is there any way to have the guide do that again?

What you are describing is built into each individual step and right now the travel system does not ignore that. Even if the travel system is turned off those will still be shown on the arrow because it is just telling you what the step has. I'm sure that once flying becomes a more common thing in the WoD zones that those steps will get updated to have the routing stuff taken out. What you can do right now is to click on the line in the step that tells you to talk to the NPC and that should change the arrow to that spot and skip the first few lines that contain the directional stuff.
