Proving Grounds - White Tiger Temple

I am a level 100 Warlock and can summon an abysal.

The quest is complete when you defeat a Bronze level challenge.

Try as I might - I cant defeat the all the waves in the White Tiger Temple

    Any ideas to help?

      I don't think it is a quest.

I go to the Command Table in my Garrison - and there is a character offering the Proving Grounds. I think you have to complete Bronze Silver and Gold levels inside the White Tiger Temple. I also think you may have to complete Silver level competency before you get to go in to Heroic level Dungeons.

I also think that the spec of my Warlock needs to be changed as I simply cant deal enough DPS. Also the spells that deal dps over an area so you can kill several enemies at the same time are not available to me. So Ill need to find out how to re-configure my warlock to be a better fighter.

Oh, that proving grounds. When you said White Tiger Temple in the title I thought you were referring to one of the MoP quests at that temple.

You will definitely need to put out a lot of dps for the proving grounds. You will want to use either your imp or maybe the succubus. There are some water based NPCs in the waves, kill them first. Those are the healers and you need to take them out quickly. Use as many direct damage spells as you can as well because the damage over time spells are too slow for you to rely on them for most of the damage.

I have an Abysal - is that not the preferable minion?

An Abysal (Summon Infernal spell) is a secondary demon that you can have out for a limited amount of time. The imp and succubus are the two main damage dealing pets you have. If you are a Demonology spec warlock then you also have a felguard which is very good dps and can be used. You want one of those 3 main demons to be summoned and then save the Abysal for later when you might need a little more dps.

If you did not mean the Summon Infernal spell when you said Abysal please let me know which spell you were referring to.

He is with me permanently once summoned, subject to being killed only. So not on a timer now but Started that way.

Does the abysal make it so you can't summon other demons? I would imagine the abysal to be more of a tank type of pet similar to the voidwalker where it can hold agro and take a lot of damage. If that is true then you do not want to use it in the proving grounds.

I still don't have the skill to get past this with my Warlock. The imp and the succubus don't help as much as the abysal. Ill try the Voidwalker next. But I just cant see how to dump multi target damage in quick enough with my character.

Are macros any good in this situation? That's another mystery to me Macros!

Ah - I think this also about Specialisation and talent allocation. Almost no real knowledge on these.

Like I had a permanent Abysal - but by fiddling about with the Learn button in the talent screen I could get my Succubus back.

All this seems so long in the learning that I am getting doubts about the game now.

You can always skip the proving grounds if you are not having any success with it. It is not required for unlocking anything as far as I can remember.

I thought it was necessary to get into Heroic dungeons?

Yes and no. It is only required for queuing up solo to enter the heroic WoD dungeons. You can go to the dungeon entrance and enter it in heroic there or you can group up with someone and let them queue the group for heroic dungeons.

Try checking out this WoWHead guide for the silver proving grounds. It has a lot of tips in it for what to do with each wave and role. http://www.wowhead.com/guides/raidin...er-in-warlords
