So for anyone else who keeps having a repeated issue with the gold guide, consider just starting from scratch!
We're sorry for all that trouble you experienced. One of our goals for this new year is to improve the installation experience. Glad to hear you got it working though.

Well, I have an update. While this was working 3 weeks ago, now it is no longer working again. I've not changed anything, it just suddenly is showing that there is not any historical data again...

Is this a bug? I see the forums, but I do not really see a bug forum...

The Technical Support section of the forums is the bugs area. Have you been running the desktop client regularly? It does need to be run frequently so it can keep everything updated. You might also want to double check the client settings for the Gold guide section to see if maybe a client update reset the realms.

You need to run the desktop client for it to update the AH data.

Try double checking the client settings for the installation folders and for the gold guide realms. I have checked the historical data for both Aggra and the Grim Batol servers (EU) and both are good. Aggra was last updated Feb. 2nd and Grim Batol was last updated Feb. 2nd as well.

I checked everything and I still have the problem. As you can see in this image (from a toon in Argent Dawn EU), 68 days without sync:

I just synced EU-Argent Dawn from the client and it is timestamped 2016-02-18 11:19:53.

Here's what you can do to 100% manually confirm that everything is working as it should be:

Before any of this, close out of World of Warcraft entirely.
                    1) Open your Battle.net client
                    2) For World of Warcraft, click the Options dropdown menu
                    3) Select Show in Explorer
                    4) Navigate into the World of Warcraft directory it takes you to, and further into Interface/AddOns/ZygorGuidesViewer/Data
                    5) Delete the Gold directory entirely.
                    6) Open the Zygor Client and navigate into the Settings menu, and the WoW Gold Guide tab
                    7) Hit the reload button in the top right. All of your realms should now be "outdated"
                    8) Hit Sync All
                    9) Look back into that Data directory, your Gold directory should have been re-created. If not, then your Game Installation settings are in fact telling the client to install files to the wrong location.
                    10) Open WoW back up and see if it works as intended.

I did everything as you said. The folder was re-created but when I opened WoW the following happened:

                      Here is the SS.

It says info is outdated (485 days ago)...

When you open the guide selection window in game (orange down arrow on guide viewer) what does it show for the version number in the bottom left?

Open up your battle.net launcher and click on Options (just below the word Games) and then select Game Settings. Now on the new window that opens up click on Game Install/Update on the left and let me know what it shows for the WoW folder setting (not the default install directory setting, I need the folder used for game play).

                              It says:
                              C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\

Ok, open the Zygor updater client and click the gear icon in the bottom right. Now click on Game Installation on the left side and you'll see 3 folder settings for WoW with magnifying glass icons beside them. Use the magnifying glass icons to make the settings the following:

                                Installation Directory:
                                C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft

                                Executable:
C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\Wow-64.exe (if you are not on a 64-bit system then select WoW.exe)

                                AddOns Directory:
                                C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons

Once that's done you can use the back arrow at the bottom right to go back to the main window and then you can do a reinstall with the wrench to get them installed. That should get it all fixed and working.
