[Resolved] Waypoint Arrow Issue

I just want to say -- I've been buying your guides for over 4 years now, and I'm DERRIBLY DISPPAPOINTED. They just suck anymore. I've picked up WoW after being away for 2 years. and your guides are so confused. They can't figure out where I'm at in the quest log, and it's so disappointing. If you're going to continue to sell "guides", then you should make sure you can figure out where to reposition a player in the quest log. I'm really disappointment in you. Shame on you.

When you open the guide selection window (small drop down arrow on guide viewer) you can click on the word Suggest at the top of the window. This will show you recommended zones based on your level. Pick the zone you were questing in and load that guide at step 1 and it should start to automatically fast forward thru completed quests. If it stops on an ancillary step (like set your hearth or get a FP) just right click the next step button again to continue fast forwarding thru completed steps. When you get to a step to kill something or accept a quest then it's caught up to where you are in the zone according to your quest history and quest log.

I too took a bit of time off from WoW and upon my return for WoD purchased the guide as my first order of business.

Have been with you for several years and thus several expansions and can honestly say that this expansions guide has been a less than stellar experience for me. While it has certainly remained helpful (for the most part) I feel that some of the polish I had come to expect from the guide is missing. The most frustrating aspect now is the unforgiving nature of the waypoint system. Needing to be at an exact coordinate in order for the guide to advance while dealing with a continually spinning arrow does nothing to decrease leveling time after all!

I'm not going to criticize the effort because I have no idea of the amount of work that goes into a project like this. It's certainly above my intelligence level and it could very well be that other add-ons my be interfering with the guide (Though I've never had that problem in the past). But being several months into the expansion I feel some of these issues should no longer be issues.

Here's hoping the update I downloaded today is the one I've been waiting for lol.

If you go to the spot where the arrow points to (normally within 5m) and it doesn't think you're there then it's most likely one of two things happening. Either another addon is having some kind of conflict or you are getting lag from the game server which is slowing down the guide knowing where you are in the game world.

Thanks for the reply. Generally it's the spinning arrow that causes me the most aggravation. I'll finish one part of a multi-step portion of the guide which is now telling me to go somewhere but the arrow just spins endlessly (sort of like it's confused). Mini map is too small to get a bearing, and the large map is too cluttered with info from other addons (Draenor Treasures, Handy Notes, NPCScan Overlay). That arrow is really a time saver when it is working properly.

Hmm, could you tell us exactly where you are standing, and the step in which guide you are on when the arrow spins? This shouldn't be happening anymore, so I'd like to investigate further, but we need more details. Thanks.

I played briefly this evening and the latest update appears to have resolved the spinning arrow issue. Will try again tomorrow to verify.
