Getting kicked from WOW after 5 secs or so

After a recent update, (can't remember which one but about 2 patches ago), every time i log into wow with Zygors guides enabled i get kicked out of wow in about 5 secs after char loads.

If zygor guide viewer is disabled this problem goes away, hopefully it can get sorted soon.

What happens if you have Zygor enabled and all other addons disabled?

With all add ons disabled except Zygor the game loads as normal, I select a char and the char loads - but after 2 - 5 secs I get kicked right out back to the Battlenet screen.

Try doing a full guide wipe/reset.


1. Exit WoW
2. Go to the WoW/Interface/Addons folder and delete the ZygorGuidesViewer folder
3. Go to the WoW/WTF/Account/<accountname>/SavedVariables folder and delete the Zygor files in there
4. Run the installer client and install a fresh copy of the guides
5. Go back in game and see if that fixed it

ok tried that - exactly the same, the zygor introduction screen pops up then game exits exactly as before.

As i say, all was ok up until a zygor patch maybe 2 or 3 ago.

Try going into your WoW folder and rename the WTF folder to something else. This will reset everything for the game and might solve the problem.

nope sorry, that hasn't worked either.

I will also say that the new(ish) mac installer also does not work for me (and yes i have the latest version of java) and i am using the Zygor updater tool to update to the latest versions.

Can you try installing a 2nd WoW installation into a new folder location and then put the Zygor guides into that and do testing there? Maybe there is some older file in with the game files that doesn't like the new guides.

And what isn't working for you with our new Java based client?

ok I will try a second install and check, haven't managed it yet - been busy today.

sorry I should have been more verbose in my answer earlier - I am using a older zygor updater to update Zygor guides and this works perfectly well and has updated to newer versions without problems.

The new zygor client will not install for me on my mac, the client says it will not work unless Java is using the most current version, I have installed and checked the latest Java client but the Zygor client will still not install - hope that helps.

It would be interesting to hear from other mac users to see if i'm the only one having problems.

There have been some Mac users that have had to do a uninstall of Java then a fresh reinstall to get it to work properly.

Thanks, a new full install of WoW worked a treat, bit of a pain but sorted.

Still can't install yer new client even after an uninstall of Java and new install but that's another problem, at least I can now use zygor again.

Did you go into the Mac security settings and allow 3rd party applications on your system? That might be preventing the installer client from working.
