    Guides

Why are the guides no longer available for purchase? I was looking forward to buying the two remaining faction guides!

Sales for the ESO guides has been discontinued. There will be an announcement about the future of the ESO guides at a later date.

I was told the announcement will be beginning of next year. I don't know if that means in January or in Q1. That is all of the information that has been released about it that I know of at this time.

I'm anxious to receive my refund after purchasing guides for all three factions. I will accept PayPal or Cashiers Check only. My law degree may prove useful if adequate compensation for breach of contract is not provided in a timely manner.

What contract was breached? There was never a guarantee of anything more than the guides you received when you made your purchase in May.

If you purchased within the last 60 days please contact support and they will gladly issue you a refund.

However, as Zygor Support pointed out, these guides were released specifically with a disclaimer that if the game failed to take off we might not be able to update them forever. Unfortunately, this turned out to be the case.

Did I miss something? I've been busy recently and haven't played ESO for a little while. I understand about the ESO Guide(s), which is a shame, but you guys have to make money in order to eat, so you aren't going to throw money at something which looks like it doesn't have a future. What did I miss?? Is ESO going down the tube?? Or is it that making a Guide for it is not clear-cut. To me, ESO is far more difficult and complex than WoW, makes my brain hurt sometimes! I think I am still using a trial Zygor Guide which is good, but doesn't seem to make life that much easier, unlike WoW where I consider Zygor to be my knowledgeable friend who travels with me.

I don't think ESO is going down the tubes, but it's not taking off. Like most new MMOs it had a nice initial subscriber base but unfortunately it held to the same trend as most new MMOs in that it slowly lost some of that subscriber base and is kind of stagnant at this point. That isn't too terribly bad on it's own but our sales for ESO haven't been that great either. And to top it off the addon API that ESO uses is not very friendly when it comes to trying to track completed quests and completed quest objectives. In fact that aspect of the addon API for ESO is pretty much non-existent. This makes trying to maintain the ESO guides more costly (in man-hours) than it does to maintain the WoW guides, and with the lack of a large subscriber base for the game the prospect of sales to compensate for the maintenance costs looks bleak. Because of all this put together it was just a better business move to stop selling the guides.

Will you guys offer maybe a trade where we could trade our eso guides for warcraft guides?

I do not know what the future will hold. I do know there will be some kind of announcement about the ESO and Wildstar guides in Q1 of 2015.

Would be the 3rd time, that you guys stop working on a product. Very disappointing.

For the ESO guides viewer, i can understand you (but i still hope, that Bethesda enhances the API somedays) and i also understand, why you discontinued your work on the D3 guides. But i don't understand your reasons for the Wildstar guide.

However... You may understand, that people may consider not to buy any other product from you anymore. Even if you offer some kind of compensation (i hope, you do even after you said often enough, that supporting ESO and WS guides can stop everytime).

We had to stop simply because the games aren't popular enough to support our staff working on the guides. Yes, the ESO guides had a major disadvantage built into them because of the game's API, but that would even be able to be worked around if the guides were able to bring in enough income to support our staff working on them. That's just not the case, unfortunately. We know that sucks, and maybe not the answer you may have hoped for, but it's an honest answer.

I actually came here today to see if you all were still supporting the guide or not. I learned that it will be most likely be discontinued, so I guess I have my answer. I've played through ESO several times in all areas and have pretty much memorized the paths the guide takes. I may not have the AD latter zones memorized since I've only have a couple of vets make it through them and it takes me more tries than 2 to memorized the guild through a zone.

I found the guide useful even with the bugs and based on Zygor's comments, about the API issues on several occasions, I figured that alone would eventually stop support. I know I would have found it very irritating if I had to attempt to accomplish what this guide does.

Having said that, I like the idea of trading for WoW guides, eventhough I don't play WoW. Maybe it would give me an incentive to start a character and see what happens. After ESO I might be spoiled though...

I have been with you a long time and if you had not put out the ESO guide I would not still be your customer as I stopped playing WoW well over a year ago and have no interest in returning to it so I was miffed to get your email today but since it has been so long since the last update to the ESO guide I should not be supposed.... It would be nice if you could do one last update when 1.6 goes up or perhaps consider handing the thing off to the addon folks at minion while perhaps retaining a cut of any donations

And has been said above I think this decision on your part may adversely affect new folks buying your wow guide in the future
