DK Frost Spec

As a lvl 90 DK, my primary spec is Blood and I wield a Greatsword of Prides Fall (LFR) upgraded to 4/4 ILvl 544. When I go to my off spec of Frost, I prefer to dual-wield. However, when I try to wield Malkoroks Skullcleaver (LFR) upgraded to 4/4 ILvl 544, the guide automatically wields the Greatsword again instead of auto-equipping my Xifeng (LFR) upgraded to 4/4 ILvl 544 to dual-wield instead. Is there a way to set the guide to dual-wield instead of 2-h when in Frost or do I have to disable the auto-equip feature just to continue to dual-wield?

As an alternative, is there a way to "ignore" an item for one spec but not another?

If you would prefer to dual wield then you will need to disable the auto-equipping because the gear suggestion is accurate. I did all the math on the weapons in question and here are the numbers.

Greatsword is scored at 3224, Skullcleaver is scored at 1583, and Xifeng is scored at 1667. Now since you want to dual wield the weapon put into the offhand only has 50% dps, and since both the Skullcleaver and Xifeng have the same dps you must subtract 315 from the score of whichever weapon you put in the offhand. No matter which of the two is main hand and which is offhand you would have a total dual wield weapon score of 2935 which is lower than the 2h weapon score of 3224, therefore the 2h weapon is the better choice.

It must have something to do with the 6.0.2 patch and the stat crunch. My dual-wield used to be the Xifeng and Wicked Edge of the Planes and it would allow the set-up without switching the Greatsword back in. I.E. I switch from Blood to Frost which would keep Greatsword wielded. As soon as I clicked on Xifeng to equip, it would auto-equip the Wicked Edge also. Now it re-equips the Greatsword instead. Today was the first day I looked at my off-spec since the patch.

Yeah, I'm sure the stat crunch and changing of different item stats will mess with a lot of people and their equipment.
