Not enough xp for next part of quests?

So, I have followed the quest guide and I am on step 31 Algoroc. I am not level 8 and can't get the next quest. It does not say to grind to 8 or skip if not...so what are you supposed to do?

Oh, that's one of those 'tutorial' quests. If you want you can keep going with the guide and then when you hit level 8 your communicator will beep to give you a quest for learning how to salvage. You can accept that and then the next time you are in town just hit up the NPCs for that quest right near Deadeye. You'll talk to the one NPC and they'll give you an item that you then have to salvage and turn in to another NPC right there.

I'm surprised you're not 8 yet. What class are you playing? I'm thinking maybe stalker and you've been able to sneak past a lot of mobs instead of having to fight them all?

I wonder if they have different classes gaining XP at different rates. I ran thru the guide yesterday with a Medic and I had hit level 8 by the time I got to that step. Hmm, come to think of it I was diverging from the guide a little here and there to make sure I picked up lore items and to do my science path stuff as it came up so maybe that was enough extra XP compared to what you were doing to give me that level.

I skipped it and went on to the part that I could pickup a quest..did that chain and it had me recall back to town. That is where that step should be imo.when you recall back to the salvage since it is level based. just a thought
