Completely useless after todays patch

Every time I log out, and back in it resets to "I don't know what you are" and loses all quest progress.

Have you tried to run the Updater client and use the wrench icon to re-install the guides?

Yes its buggered is the technical term we use in Australia.. I have reinstalled its still buggered,,, on a plus note all addons are also effecting achievements and also not working at the moment.

Sure u will fix this issue but its major annoying to have to scroll thru everytime at moment shame u don't have the synch button that used to be in the wow version that would search thru to nest stage u had to complete

Could you give us a run down of what is not working now that had been working before the patch? Will help the dev team to figure out what's going on to get it fixed.

The addon for doing the quest efficiently is not keeping track of the current status if you log out and back on since the patch 1.2.3

the Zygor addon resets in the user interface resets, like when zoning into building or teleporting...it's messed up

Basically every time I log on I have to choose a guide and start from step 1. Ridiculous. Please fix asap

I truncated about 700 lines of stephistory, due to limit on total character count for this post.

In case anyone doesn't want to open grumpus' link, here is the information given by ESO on the solve until they fix the issue;

* Go to your Documents folder (the same one that you had to use to install your addons)
* Go to your Elder Scrolls folder
* Go to your Live folder
* Go to your SavedVariables folder
***MAKE A BACKUP OF THIS FOLDER!***
You should see a listing of files for each addon you used. They will be named [AddOnName].lua
* You can open those files using any text editor (I'd say just use NotePad). Right click the file name, choose Open With and pick whatever editor you want to use
* Somewhere close to the top of the .lua file will be a line that says ["@Username"]
* Change that to replace ["@Username"] with [""].
* Save and close.

Do this for each of the addon .lua files that you have in that folder.

Here is what is going on and a workaround, so folks can at least continue questing until everything gets sorted.

Basically, due to something that ZOS changed, the addon no longer knows what character to load when you log in. However, it does know what character to track and what character to save steps for.

So, here is the workaround, I tested it this morning. Open your ZygorGuidesViewer.lua with Notepad. Find your Character name, the find the "stephistory" section, as exampled above in my previous post. Scroll down until you find the last step and take note of that number.

Log into your character. Select the correct zone guide, then advance your guide until you get to the last step you wrote down from previously. You will then be able to continue your questing and your advancements will be saved.

IMPORTANT: When you log out or reload your UI, the addon will become de-synced from your character, so when you log back in, you will have to repeat the entire process, starting with opening your ZygorGuidesViewer.lua (if you forgot what step you were on) and manually advancing the guide.

This is just a temporary workaround, until either Zygor or ZOS makes a fix. (I'm not sure that Zygor has to fix, or should, if its ZOS's bug in their API)

Absolutely!

However, the title of this thread is incorrect when it states that it is now useless. I just advance to where I left off on my last session and it works the same as it did a couple of days ago. Inconvenient would be the term I would use. Being so dramatic is an attempt to get attention quicker.

All addons are having issues with the save variables since the path to them changed. I'm unsure why they decided to change the path. They would have to know it was going to tick a whole lot of people off. Therefore I think it is a mistake since it wasn't mention in patch notes. If it is a mistake and they fix it then all my saved variables will be lost again. I can't wait....
