1-85 working with 1-80?

Will my 1-85 guide work correctly with a 1-80 server?

Blah blah blah. Inb4 Private Server Noob.

I just want to know. I don't like MoP. And I certainly won't be paying for LoD.

Our guides normally will only work with the live Blizzard servers because the addon API is different for older versions of the game that the private servers use.

Is there a way where I could download the old API from an archived file?

The API is specific to the server and is not something that we have a file of. The API is how the game interacts with the addons and is completely server side. There is nothing we have or can do to help you with using the guides on a private server.
