Gear suggestions when using heirlooms seems to be a little off.

I keep getting asked to swap out my heirloom gear for poor items.

This is a known bug that we are working on. Right now the heirloom items show up as being a plate armor but you're not allowed to wear plate until you hit level 40. This confuses the gear suggestion system and makes it think you can't equip that heirloom so it suggests another item. You will continue to see suggestions like this until you hit level 40 and are able to officially wear plate armor.

But i hadnt had that problem on hunter below 40 with leather

It will depend on what Blizzard marks the gear as being. If the heirloom was marked as being leather below 40 and then mail when you hit 40 then there wouldn't have been any problems. It's also possible that Blizzard decided to change around some stuff in one of the recent patches that has started to cause this issue.

I'm not sure if it could be an issue, but might it be due to people upgrading their heirlooms? Before the ability to upgrade heirlooms came out, I never had my guide suggest a very bad piece of gear over the heirloom I was wearing, but now it happens every time I get a piece for that particular slot.

When you are in game and you open your guide selection window (small drop down arrow on guide viewer) what does it display in the lower left corner for your version number?

However, the character I have been leveling, my hunter, did just reach 40, and it appears that the issue does actually lie in what the game defines the heirloom gear as. Since I was wearing the "mail" heirlooms, it seems like the guide was treating all of the armor pieces as though there was nothing in that slot...I'm just curious as to why it was suggesting I equip pieces that are blatantly obvious to be inferior simply by the long list of negative stats in the pop-up. :/ If I'm able to recreate the bug the next time I'm leveling 1-40, I'll be sure to get a screenshot.

That particular bug is known and the fix is in beta testing. It was simply that the gear suggestions saw you wearing a mail item but you can't wear mail before 40 (heirloom shows as mail even tho you're limited to leather) so it was trying to get you to equip a non-mail item.

4 weeks. FOUR. WEEKS. The fix was in beta four weeks ago, and I'm STILL having the issue. I'm currently looking at the "Zygor Guides would like to replace" window...

Seriously? This is pathetic. I want to use the gear suggestion system, but at the same time, it angers me that every time I get a helm, shoulder, chest, or legs that it pops up the stupid window showing OBVIOUSLY inferior gear as being an upgrade/replacement.

I've given far too much money to purchase these guides, having issues like this that haven't been fixed even though they were first reported back in the BEGINNING OF JUNE is positively pathetic.

On your "Company Info" page of the main website, the last paragraph begins by saying "Zygor has since brought together more skilled professionals to help in producing his guides. As a result, Zygor products are always kept up to date without ever sacrificing quality."

That couldn't be any more of a lie.
