Jewelcrafting - Mining Silver

I am trying to use the Jewelcrafting levelling guide but am stuck at step 23, mining 40 silver. I have been running around Ashenvale for hours over several days, following the path, but have not found a single silver node to mine, just enough tin to satisfy Heinz for several years!

You must be very unlucky or Blizzard does not like silver anymore.
wow-professions.com has two alternatives for the Ring of Silver Might but they require other materials not found too often:

I did an internet search and people suggest Alterac Mountains so I went over there and found 4 deposits, but Zygor keeps wanting me to go back to Ashenvale.

Had another go round there, but again without success.

I think you're right, Blizzard doesn't like me!

I'll give wow-professions a look and see how I get on.

This is strange, I looked this up at wowhead and it seems there's no silver in Ashenvale:

And the Alliance guide sends you to Northern Strangelthorn. So I think this is an error in the Horde guide.

This is strange as I though silver was sharing the spawn points with tin ore.

You're right. Tin veins are supposed to also be silver veins at random.

Bot wowhead shows lots of tin in Ashenvale but no silver (see link above).

ya im at this step too, not a single silver deposit was found in 5 hours

We'll get this changed around to use Northern Stranglethorn like the Alliance guide does.
