are treated like any other quest, sequentially. the guide tells you to complete it before you go any further. sometimes, you get the suggestion beforehand to start collecting quest items. but that is usually not the case. i have already mentioned 1 or 2 collect quests that can easily be postponed to be done while doing other quests. right now i am doing "securing the shaleskin shale" in netherstorm. a very annoying collect quest, like they usually are, with a low drop rate. i suppose i could have better combined it with other quests.
as it is something of a recurrent issue, i thought to make it more general.
another example in netherstorm: "essence for the engines" can be easily combined with rebuilding the staff." and the escort quest mark v is alive
i suppose the anybody who checks the big map first can find such combinations, but the problem is that geographical proximity is not always the criterion for efficiently doing a quest according to the guide. which means that either we rely on the guide or not. tough choice.
