I'm a discipline priest, but this gear guide suggested me to do Mogushan's Palace to get a dagger that reduces my intellect and crit instead? Is this really a better option?

You're comparing a 1-hand dagger to a 2-hand staff. You need to also look at what off-hand item might drop in there or you might possibly have in your bags. Also, spell power is almost as important as Int and the dagger has about 800 more spell power which will more than make up for the 300 Int loss.
