I have no problem with Zygor branching out, so to speak, into a gear addon. It ties in with their gear guide in my opinion.
I do agree that there is a danger of it become too bloated, and it already is quite hefty. Maybe they could try and do some work on modulating the addon, so only the stuff we want to use is loaded at that time.

An all in one bag with categories for each gear slot, consumables, materials, etc. as well as a section for 'New' items for easy locating of newly acquired items. As an fyi, this isnt as light as it could be BUT it is lighter than Zygor currently is.

But see, in my case, I have one simple addon that, as long as I maintain it, changes my gear out automatically depending on my spec, raiding/pvping/fishing, or RP'ing (specified by zone).
No offense to Zygor here but there are other addons that do this and do it well. And I trust the folks at icy-veins, askmrrobot, elitist jerks, etc for gear rankings and recommendations. Yea, maybe this is a neat feature for non 90 toons, I dunno, I dont have the dungeon gear guide (thinking about picking it up tho as I have the other 5 'guides') but I have my gear refroged, gemmed, enchanted, and categorized for every situation based on the recommendations of what the experts who have run the numbers using the simulationcraft program (www.simulationcraft.org).
There has been little to no explanation on what formulas Zygor is using, no information on whether this is user customizable (for example weighted stats), etc. Perhaps this might be usable for me if I had the ability to customize these sorts of things but I dont (well, Im assuming I dont, correct me if Im wrong).Race and Class: Dwarven Priest Character Name: Jacq US server: Cenarion Circle

It has been said before that we use weighted stats and you can see what they are in the ItemScore.lua file. If you really wanted to you could change those weights in the file but keep in mind any update will revert your changes back to our defaults. We would like to get the system to a point where there are user defined stat weights but before we even go that route we still have some bugs to flush out of the system and need to make sure it's all working as intended. My Flight Path Follies guide

Originally posted by cabby View PostMost of the stat weights for the gear suggestions are based off of the noxxic website and those are all based on end game dungeons and raids. So the only ones that would be weighted more toward survivability would be the tanking specs and the rest would be as hachem described and weighted more toward overall dps. This is actually the principle behind most of the gear suggestion addons like Pawn.
I believe the team have said that they would eventually like to get to a point where the guide users would be able to adjust the weights allowing more flexibility with the system, I just don't know when that might happen.
I only use it for levelling and normal dungeons at the moment. I also use other sources for my raiding character

Ok, I think everyone missed the points I was making.
1. Other addons do this and do it well. Why re-invent the wheel?
2. There are other bigger issues that need to be addressed, namely, guide accuracy.
3. The more you overtake the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain. In other words, the more that is added, the easier it is for everything to fall apart (especially when major patches occur).
4. I am one of those people who disagrees with the recommendations of Noxxic and as such, I want my stats weighted a bit differently. More in the next paragraph.
5. Disabling a feature doesnt disable that section of code from being loaded into memory.
My main is a healapriest. The current 'popular' recommendations are to reforge, gem, & enchant everything into spirit if at all possible for mana regen. However, doing this provides me with more mana regen than I need in raids (I use several addons that assist with keeping my mana use efficient). So, I modify my gear differently than what is recommended (for those interested, I do about 60% of what I 'can' into spirit, the rest into haste).
What I want to see out of Zygor is a solid accurate guide, nothing more than that.Race and Class: Dwarven Priest Character Name: Jacq US server: Cenarion Circle

Now I'm sure that the current 'popular' recommendations you mention will probably also state that once the healer is happy with his mana regen, he can start to look at his other stats. A blanket statement for healers to throw everything into spirit is as daft as telling a tank to throw everything into parry. This is where weighting comes into play. I haven't checked out how Noxxic have weighted healapriests, but I'm sure it's not simply "Spirit>everything else".
Zygor have already stated that they want to add the facility to add your own weights, which will go some way to make it a better feature.
You know as well as I do though, that looking at gear in isolation is not how raiders look at the situation. We take our whole gear into account. Just because one item may be BIS on every list does not mean that it is an upgrade for you at that point in time. By grabbing that item you could throw all your other stats, not to mention tier piece bonuses, out the door. With such things as hit and haste plateaus and whatever, you have to keep an eye on all your gear.

Blimey. I was only going to give a quick answer, but seem to have nattered on a bit there

Molocks, when you open the guide selection window in game what does it show in the lower left for the guide version? It definitely should not have suggested the Tawnyhide Cape so I'm thinking you might be working with an older guide version and not know it.
Krendar, for the combat rogue off-hand weapon it looks at dps and not the speed. Was it maybe recommending the new weapon for main-hand?My Flight Path Follies guide

A few things to look forward to with the Item system:
-Display for our stat selection system for items.
-Ability to change stat priorities to fit your own personal preferences.
Also, will you make a recommandation window for random loots ? (like the loot you get in dunjeons)
