I can't comment on how that is handled as I have not seen the new guides yet. I think you're worrying a bit too much about the XP stuff tho because Blizzard will most likely adjust it all again which will throw off your calculations. And then they'll probably adjust it another time between beta ending and the game going live. They just love to mess with everyone like that.

After first raising the XP needed to level from 85 to 90 by 50% Blizzard already reduced the values again.

For those interested I looked up the quest XP for the Pandaria zones at wowhead and made this table:

I filtered for Alliance quests that are not daily quests and don't require level 90.
Remember that this information is from the beta server and wowhead may not have all quests listed.
It looks like it will not be possible to skip zones but questing through them one by one should be possible.Comment
