Step collapsed

I'm leveling through BC and keep having guide steps say "step collapsed." Sometimes the guide arrow will tell me to go somewhere, sometimes the guide arrow disappears when this happens. I've looked through all the guide options and not found anything that appears that it would cause this. I don't recall when it started happening.

Any help?

ETA: This just happened again. Step 51, Horde leveling guide in Blade's Edge Mountains, shows "step collapsed" and the guide arrow says "Follow the path west".
ETA: Again - step 62, guide arrow says "Leave the cave"

That happens when the guide step itself has nothing you can do. Normally it should be skipping over a collapsed step and you shouldn't see it. When you do see it that most likely means that you'll need to use the arrow to get to a spot as a way to help get you around the map, so you can just follow the arrow and ignore the collapsed step part.
