    WoW Guide Features

    Hey,

I purchased my copy of Zygor guides quite a few years ago. When I purchased, I remember there being an option that would have the guide skip unnecessary quests or xp bloating quests, if you're above the level on the guide, but it would still make you do necessary chain quests.

Does this feature still exist? It was really convenient when I was able to do it, so I wouldn't get 5 levels ahead of the guide.

    Thanks,

It does and doesn't exist at this time.

When Blizzard did all of the re-vamps to the 1-60 zones for Cataclysm they made the questing very linear. It's impossible to do the quest skipping like before, if you try it now you quickly get to the point where there are no quests available because they're all chained together.

What we were able to do is break down the guides into the various quest hubs, and the guide will pop up a suggestion to move to the next quest hub (guide) when you reach the proper level. Following the guide suggestions like this should keep you moving along nicely and not get too far ahead of the quests in any of the hubs.

The only problem I've found (many times) is when the pop-up covers my screen while I'm in the midst of fending off 3 or more attackers, the only option is to either say 'no' quickly, to avoid dying, or 'yes.' The major problem with accepting 'yes' is that the guide does not take into consideration that I have 6 completed quests to turn in, not counting the one I'm currently working on. Once I've accepted the guide's suggestion, invariably it tells me to go to another continent without providing any steps to get there from where I am currently. If I quest there, then the experience points will diminish compared to what they would have been had I turned in the quests at the proper time. Plus, I'd still have to travel back to the former continent later, to turn them in!

So, what have been forced into doing is to quickly jot down the suggested 'new' questing zone/quest-giver/town, etc., then finish up where I am first. The guide doesn't suggest "... if you have completed quests in this area, turn them in before accepting the new guide.". I know that it's only common sense, but it would make the guide "more fluid" and workable. Just my opinions.
