    I'm confused

I'm not really trying to start anything and I apologize in advanced because I am sure people will flame this but I've seen some things over the years while I've had the guide that I'm not sure about.

We have a great community to begin with but most of the support for the guides seem to come from Moderators and Users. Sure that is great and all but at the same time I'm not paying them so I am not sure why the people who are paid are pushing new products rather than fixing the old ones.

Another thing that I've always wondered is I see mention to lack of help being blamed on people posting in wrong sections but I rarely ever see topics get moved so they can get help. Even in this general guide discussion the list of posts about issues is crazy. Typically on most forums they will tell you the issues already been brought up link you to it and close your topic. Here they just leave it "someone will eventually get to it".

Communication tends to be horrible. Sure I understand there is a crap load of posts but seriously if your not going to take the time to keep them organized then you should take the time to at least make a major post that issues were resolved. By saying this I don't mean the wall of text that gets put out when the guide gets updated of a crap load of things.

I personally use the guide updater to launch my game. I've never really understood why when a fix occurs you wait and compile a huge amount of them instead of just releasing them as they come out. People say it takes forever for issues to be resolved... wouldn't this fix that?

I'm sure a lot of this you can blame on users but honestly "Welcome to customer service" people in general are lazy and tend to not take the time to do things the right way instead pick an easy way. What seems to happen though is people who do take the time to do it get the bad end of the stick because they get lost in the sea of stupid per se lol.

Perception is all we have on the internet I know zygor gets this because if you aren't logged in you can not view the tech forums which would show loads of errors with no resolution (then people wouldn't buy them). What I think though is maybe taking a step back and taking a look at the perception that everything has in general. We as users can't see behind the scenes and if it isn't communicated all we can just do is guess. Typically people assume the worst so the best approach is to consistently communicate.

Well I've asked my questions and given my opinion if anyone feels they have anything productive to add go for it. If all you've got is "this guide sucks" then my response is you logged into the site and paid for the guide so Obviously not that much so stop being bitter.

Some of what you were getting at I've been slowly trying to work at behind the scenes. I won't give specific details right now in case nothing ever comes of it but I am trying to get it to the point where there will be something better in the way of bug fixes communication.

And when I move topics I often just leave a 3 day expiring redirect for it so after a few days you'd never know it was moved.

I have to agree with the OP.

I've been heading to the forums daily to see if there's any news about some of the bugs that are currently rearing their ugly heads in the new guides.

A simple "we are aware of these problems and are working on it", maybe an ETA would be good. I love what you are doing over here, but have to say that I'm a bit disappointed with quality of the new products that were released, and the amount of feedback begin given in regards to the bugs.

      Regards

Thanks for the response I think one of the most simplest things they could do to get issues resolved and people with them giving proper info is make an issue button on the guide. I know that seems odd but think about it. You press the button it pulls up the relevant info in a new window with a copy button that says Copy the information then please make a post here. This way you wouldn't have to ask the same questions over and over like "What version".

Also I know the biggest issue is these guides started and we have a lot of tech minded people on the team which is awesome but they are missing the key of PR (public relations) people who make the tech people look good and handle the personal feelings involved that 01010101101 can't fix lol.

Sobeit81, I love what you have posted, and no, you wont get flammed. I only flame those that demonstrate a need to receive such a response.
One of the largest problems we as moderators have is people making new threads over an issue that has been gone over in countless other threads. While I get the search button is a bit "hidden" or difficult to find, it would be nice for members to try and search out their topic before opening a thread. But I guess that might fall under the category of 'job security' for us mods.
The issue button is an interesting thought, and I think it could be a very useful tool. My only concern is that it would make it even easier for new threads to be started if all you had to do was click a few buttons and post your problem.
With the latest conglomerate of posts on the issues with the guides, all I can say is we as mods are doing our best to address issues as they come up while staging the problems we cant address for the design team to address when they log in. Its the best we can do right now to make sure everyones legitimate problems get addressed in a timely manner.
With regards to problems and where they are posted, its a tricky subject to work out. Is the problem a tech issue that needs to be in the tech section, or is it a fix that we as mods know a fix for? If its a mod-help fix, we tend to keep the post where it is. The tech thread we try to keep for the issues we think are important for the design team to look at. The more we can help the members out the less the tech threads need to be created (or posts/threads moved into), which streamlines the issues the design team really do have to look at. This does exactly what you suggest happens; it gives the design team less time needed to spend in here and more time fixing the bugs or designing new products for us to enjoy.
So far there hasnt been a perfect solution to this, but I think we have it down to a pretty good workflow now. All that needs to be done is steamline some of the more recent problems together, if possible, and make sure you all are made aware of the issues and fixes.

Hope that offers some clarity on what we try to do here to keep you all up and running smoothly.

          Cheers

With the search feature also keep in mind we play a game that is mostly made of abbreviations. Now for example I have had some of the FPS issues others have. If I type fps into the search it will not let me search because it is to limited. So I then tried framerate I got a result but it wasn't as many as I found by manually browsing through the threads.

Yeah, tags would help on that one.
