Problem with updater

When i click on the updater icon, the updater opens for a couple of seconds and then launches WOW, so I cannot check if I have latest version.

I have tried deleteing it and then downloading but same thing happens.

After clicking the icon immediately hold the shift key pressed, this will prevent the launcher from starting WoW.

Im having the same problem and holding Shift did work for me

There should now be a small window that opens when you run the Updater with an Abort option. Click on that Abort to stop the auto-launching of WoW.
